Graduate Academic Success. In the Associate Director role, they work in collaboration with programs and schools to enhance support provided to graduate and professional students throughout their experience at Mason. Jason’s work is informed by over fifteen years of experience in higher education, with their most recent experience being at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) assisting academic department leadership in their cultivation of positive department climate changes.

Jason has a Master of Education in Counseling with a focus in College Student Personnel Administration from James Madison University; and is a PhD student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Their current research focuses on the impact of power dynamics on the doctoral student advising relationship.

Jason grew up in Virginia and has traveled both within and outside the continental US. They are an overthinker with a particular interest in structures, systems, and processes along with their reform, which means they often have a lot of questions. Jason is hoping to return to swimming as a pastime, and is working towards checking Australia off their bucket list.
